Expect Changes

Experiencing Jesus

Jesus taught us, "whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine you did for me"   Daily in a  classroom of Syrian refugee children we have the opportunity to do acts of service for the school children in the name of  Jesus.

One of the books we read was the story, The Very Hungry Caterpillar.   The children learned the English names for some of the fruit; did art and math related to the story.
I got to wash many little hands after students made finger painted caterpillars.

The Children had a feast sampling all the different kinds of foods the Very Hungary Caterpillar had eaten.

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom

After hearing the story Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, the students experienced the cutting of a coconut, drinking coconut milk and eating the coconut.

They also did science experiencements with coconuts.

The students made edible coconut trees.

Circumstances, Choices and Changes

We are all standing on holy ground.  God's grace is going before everyone in the world showing everyone God's glory.

For those of us who are walking in the way provided through our faith in Christ, the Holy Spirit is guiding us through choices and changes.  Ephesians 2:10 reminds us, "For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

I praise God for our call to follow Jesus.  What an adventure experiencing God, knowing God is directing us to the good works already prepared for us to do.  The specifics and the outcomes are God's; our joy is the freedom to stay close and obey.

Called to Pray for Each Other

Samuel put it this way in 1 Samuel 12:23, "As for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord by failing to pray for you."

Paul instructs us in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, "Rejoyce always, pray continually, giving thanks in all circumstances; for this is God' s will for you in Christ Jesus."

I take comfort in and praise God that we are called to this prayer ministry for each other.
